My work is concerned with the fall from eternal, divine existence into temporal existence, and what a soul carries with it or loses in that transition. I use stars throughout as a recurring marker of the divine, something that persists even as it becomes bound by time, decay, and finitude. I find my way into this material through surrealist automatism, letting the work take shape before I understand it, then finish it with deliberate, exacting craft. I work primarily in fiber, wood, and metal.
